RIDGEWALKER — GAUR INSPIRED

The Gaur has been part of our hikes for years. Native to South India, it’s one of the largest wild bovines in the world. Seen in the Nilgiris, usually at dawn, far across a slope or standing still on a ridge. Dark brown coat, ivory legs, a wide forehead marked by a clean white stripe. It moves without effort. Heavy, but never clumsy. Always uphill, always watching.

In the villages nearby, people tie cloth to fences when a Gaur crosses. Tracks are left alone. No questions, no rituals. Just a clear mark that something rare has passed through. The animal isn’t celebrated. It’s understood.

That understanding shaped the Ridgewalker Collection. We matched the brown from its coat. Built the jacket and pant system to carry the same strength. Nothing soft, nothing loose. The forms are made to hold. Double pleats at the back, cinch tabs, heavier belt loops, wide cuffs, hidden knife slots. Every choice came from time spent outdoors, where things either work or they don’t. The patch carries a hand-drawn sketch of the Gaur — not a logo, just memory. One sighting, kept.

This isn’t storytelling. This is what we’ve seen.
The Gaur shaped this. We made sure it stayed in the fabric.
